What challenges do you currently see in the fashion industry, especially with regard to legal requirements? How is LANIUS addressing these challenges?
Regulations for the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act and the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) are currently being relaxed, which is unfortunately a step backward for sustainability in the entire fashion industry.
As a medium-sized company, we are not (yet) directly affected by these laws – but we still see it as our responsibility to consistently be a part of progress. For over 25 years, LANIUS has relied on natural fibers and fair production.
We act not only when laws demand it, but because it aligns with our values. We want to show that responsible business practices in fashion are possible – and ultimately the better way.
What does circular economy mean specifically for LANIUS and how is it integrated into the processes?
At LANIUS, circular economy begins with design. We don't create short-lived trends but durable favorites – timeless, high-quality, and designed to be worn for many seasons.
In addition, we actively support our customers in extending the lifespan of their clothing: with specially tailored care products, detailed instructions, and our own repair service. And we plan to expand this further!
This is how we understand circular economy: as a shared responsibility that goes far beyond production – towards a more conscious approach to fashion that conserves resources and preserves values.
Do you have any practical tips for more sustainable consumption? What have you recently changed in your personal consumption habits?
A very simple but effective tip: Appreciate and care for existing favorite pieces instead of prematurely buying new ones.
For example, last long weekend I took on my worn-out sneakers: new laces, repair kit for the torn heels, a thorough cleaning, and some leather care – they look like new! It was a bit time-consuming, but it was well worth it.
